Family Counseling
Evidence-based therapy in a welcoming, down-to-earth environment.
At Campbell Family Counseling, we believe effective therapy isn't about keeping you in therapy forever. It's about helping you build the skills and confidence to navigate life's challenges independently.
You direct your recovery, while your therapist provides guidance, support, and clinical expertise along the way. Together, you'll determine a plan and appointment schedule that reflects both your preferences and your clinical needs.
Our Approach

Our Office
Our office is conveniently located at the southeast corner of Pioneer Parkway and University Street at 7820 N. University St., Suite 101, Peoria, IL 61614. We have a private side entrance for added convenience and privacy.
We have a comfortable waiting area with seating, a children's space, and maybe even a puzzle in progress. We also have books, toys, and activities that encourage both play and therapeutic growth because it's never too early to help children feel comfortable with therapy.
Campbell Family Counseling is a Child-first practice. We believe children deserve to feel safe, comfortable, and valued from the moment they walk through our doors. That's why we've designed our office with children in mind and have security measures in place, including controlled building access. Campbell Family Counseling is a gun-free and weapon-free facility.

Why
Evidence
Matters
All therapists at Campbell Family Counseling use evidence-based practices (EBPs) because therapy should do more than feel supportive: it should help you make meaningful progress.
Simply put, we use therapy approaches that have been carefully studied and shown to be effective for specific concerns. This gives your therapist a strong foundation while still leaving room for therapy to fit you.
We don’t rely on advice, trends, or a one-size-fits-all approach. Your needs and goals shape the work we do together. The science guides us while you remain at the center of your therapy.
Meet the Campbells

Corey Campbell, PhD, LCSW
Co-Owner, Therapist
Areas of Focus:
I work with adolescents, adults, athletes, coaches, professionals, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, behavioral concerns, relationship challenges, and substance use. I also provide performance counseling for athletes, coaches, executives, and other high performers who want to strengthen confidence, improve focus, enhance leadership, build resilience, and perform at their best under pressure.
Therapeutic approach:
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I have extensive training in Motivational Interviewing, helping clients discover their own motivation for change while developing practical skills that lead to lasting success. Whether you’re facing a difficult season of life, navigating personal or professional challenges, or striving to reach your full potential, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals.
Teaching & Research:
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as the Program Director of the Bachelor of Social Work Program at Bradley University, where I have the privilege of educating and mentoring future social workers. I remain actively involved in research, publishing and presenting on topics including behavior change, Motivational Interviewing, and substance use treatment. My research continually informs my clinical work, ensuring that the care I provide is grounded in current evidence while remaining compassionate, practical, and client-centered.

Audrey Campbell, LCSW
Co-Owner, Therapist
Areas of Focus:
I primarily work with women healing from trauma that has impacted their relationship with their bodies. This may include self-confidence, body image, sexuality, and intimacy. I enjoy supporting women through every stage of reproductive life, from the changes that begin in girlhood through the reproductive years, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Through gentle, intentional healing, many of my clients have been able to build happy, healthy lives that include a fulfilling sex life, if that is part of their goal.
My style:
My style is eclectic, casual, collaborative, and person-centered. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I help clients identify what they're already doing that works well and do more of it, while recognizing what isn't working and finding healthier alternatives. My goal is for therapy to translate into meaningful change in everyday life.
Couples & Family Therapy:
I enjoy working with couples who are willing to look honestly at their own patterns, take responsibility for their individual growth, and work toward a healthier relationship together. I also provide family therapy, helping families improve communication, strengthen relationships, and navigate life's challenges as a team.
Education & Training
B.A. in Sociology, Western Illinois University
Master of Social Work, University of Illinois
Certification in Marriage & Family Therapy
Certification in Sex Therapy & Education, University of Michigan
Corey and Audrey Campbell opened Campbell Family Counseling in 2018 to provide accessible, down-to-earth mental health care in the Peoria community. They wanted clients to make meaningful progress, reduce sessions as they feel better, and have a trusted “therapy home” to return to when needed.
They also set out to create both a Learning Practice, where developing clinicians can grow with strong supervision, and a Child-First Practice that prioritizes children’s safety while helping them learn about emotions, boundaries, consent, and self-advocacy. Their approach is grounded in science while remaining personal and approachable.
Outside the office, Corey and Audrey enjoy spending time with their children, four dogs, and caring for the flowers at their family-owned farm.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What can I expect at my first appointment?
Your first appointment is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know one another. You’ll talk a little about your history, as well as what’s currently going on that brings you to therapy. You’ll also discuss what you’d like to work on and begin identifying goals together. Sessions are typically 55 minutes, although shorter sessions are also available.
How much does therapy cost? Do you accept insurance?
Campbell Family Counseling is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and UnitedHealthcare. We may also be able to accept other insurance plans, so please contact us to verify your coverage. For out-of-network plans, we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Self-pay rates vary by service and provider; please contact us for current pricing. We accept debit and credit cards, cash, and Venmo.
How often will I come to therapy?
There is no one-size-fits-all schedule. Some clients benefit from weekly appointments, while others attend every other week, monthly, or as needed. You and your therapist will decide together what makes sense based on your goals, clinical needs, progress, and preferences. As things improve, sessions can become less frequent.
I'm a District 150 employee.
How do I get started?
Services are available to District 150 employees with active Type A, B, or C District insurance. To get started, email contact@campbellfamilycounseling.com. To help us begin the intake process, please include the legal name and date of birth of the person receiving services, along with the best email address to use for their online portal.
Do you offer Clinical Supervision?
Yes! Campbell Family Counseling is a Learning Practice committed to supporting the growth and development of mental health professionals. We offer clinical supervision for a fee to clinicians working toward independent licensure.
As part of our commitment to learning, we also employ developing clinicians who practice under clinical supervision. This allows newer professionals to build experience while receiving ongoing guidance and oversight from experienced clinicians.
